Episode 30 - A Root Beer Float and Some Slim Jims

In honor of the film festival at the "university of choice" this week, Nick and I view and discuss one of my favorite underground independent films: Jesse Cowell's 2005 comedy "Shades of Gray". Join us as we celebrate/mourn how it came to my attention, applaud its ballsiness, and ruminate on the future of its uber-talented writer/director/star.

(If you'd like to view the film before listening to our comments, check out http://shades.jeskid.com. You'll be glad you did!)

Episode 29 - Board-Dumb

This week, Nick and I discuss board games. ...No, seriously. Included in said discussion are recent (mostly unnecessary) changes to a few of the classics, the underrated comic brilliance of the Clue VCR Game, and Hollywood's current obsession with putting even the most story-less of board games on the big screen.

Episode 28 - The One with the Fucking Awesome Stained Glass Knight

You can thank Nick for the delightfully blunt title to this week's episode, in which he and I discuss 1985's "Young Sherlock Holmes", a film with such an astounding pedigree attached to it (Barry Levinson! Chris Columbus!! STEVEN SPIELBERG!!! PIXAR!!!!) it's hard to believe that so many people (quite probably including yourself, fair listener) have never even heard of it. Join us as we discuss its somewhat annoying obsession with all the classic Sherlock standards, how much narration is too much narration, and the titular figure of CGI badassery. It all adds up to something that just may be "The Best Movie of All-Time!".

Episode 27 - The Talking Cure, Part 3 (No Relation)

In which Nick and I attempt to go an entire episode WITHOUT discussing pop culture outright...and fail miserably. Be forewarned, the last half of the episode gets very emotional as I REALLY let loose with my thoughts on NBC's latest huge mistake. (FUN FACT: The original cut of this episode was WAY, WAY darker. I excised a possibly record-setting eight minutes of my NBC rant, because...let me tell you...shit got REAL.)
